As I mentioned before, do some basic research on what you're wanting to do, no more than five minutes and a handful of Google searches will tell you these things. That /u/mathbrot unsubbed after getting utter garbage answers for a legitimate question is no surprise.Ĭlearly you don't understand that DXF is a 2D file format. That you haven't used it for anything outside of reference sketches does not mean that they are irrelevant. Oh, and you know what? DXF is an Autodesk format for 2D and 3D drawings and models.ĭXFs are typically irrelevant in mechanical and freeform modelling outside of reference sketches. You can already export the sketches by right-clicking. So that is a feature F360 thinks it's worth paying for. Yet, F360 allows you to export to DXF in the non-free edition. This is why their front page doesn't list DXF, it's a 3D program, not a 2D program If you were looking for a program that directly exports 2D files, you should be looking at a 2D cad program. Want to dynamically generate a pegboard based on width/height? Want to generate wheel hubs with different bolt spacings depending on size? Sure. There's no reason to 'export' a model sketch because it's only a base component that you build the model off ofĪnd again, wrong. F360 is not only a 3D CAD program, but PCB design, CAM, CAD and CAE as well. This is because the export feature is for the 3D model, as this is a 3D cad program.įor future readers, this is just plain wrong.
